1. introduction

reuel, llc (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. this privacy policy explains how myruel (“app”) handles your information. myruel is a voice journaling and affirmations application that helps you organize your life. by using myruel, you agree to the practices described in this privacy policy.

2. voice data and ai processing

myruel is built around voice journaling. when you record a journal entry:

  • your audio is temporarily transmitted to our secure servers to be transcribed into text.
  • we use artificial intelligence (ai) to analyze the transcript and automatically extract diary thoughts, habits, events, and actions.
  • we do not use your audio, transcripts, or extracted data to train our ai models or any third-party ai models.
  • audio files are discarded after transcription and analysis are complete.

3. data we store vs. data we do not store

data stored on our servers

we store the following data to provide syncing, ai processing, and core app functionality:

  • account identifier (email, firebase authentication tokens, or sign-in provider identifier)
  • your text-based journal streams, extracted habits, events, and actions (synced securely to our database)
  • custom affirmation collections and playback preferences
  • media (such as vision board images or profile assets) uploaded to our cloud storage

local-first caching

myruel uses an offline-first architecture. your entries, affirmations, and cues are cached locally on your device for fast, offline access, syncing with our servers in the background when a connection is available.

4. account information

we offer account creation via:

  • email and password
  • apple sign-in
  • google sign-in

this information is used solely to authenticate your access to your private sanctuary.

5. legacy features (health data)

legacy versions of myruel included period and cycle tracking. if you are using a legacy version with these features, your health data remains stored exclusively on your local device. we do not sync, sell, share, or access your health data.

6. third-party services

myruel integrates with trusted third-party partners to provide core services:

  • firebase & cloudflare: for secure authentication, database hosting, and edge computing.
  • ai providers (e.g., google gemini): for transcription and task extraction (with zero-data-retention agreements).
  • stripe & revenuecat: for processing premium subscriptions securely.
  • posthog: for anonymized product analytics to improve the app.

7. tracking and advertising

we do not track you for advertising purposes. we do not sell your personal data to data brokers or ad networks. myruel is a private space; our business model is based on subscriptions, not surveillance.

8. data deletion

you may request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:

  • using the "delete account" option in the app's settings menu.
  • contacting us at ama@myruel.com.

upon deletion, your journal streams, cues, affirmations, and account details are permanently removed from our servers.

9. changes to this policy

we may update this privacy policy occasionally. if changes are significant, we will notify you inside the app. continued use of myruel indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

10. contact us

Why Your Affirmations Are Not Working (And What the Research Says Instead)

I said 'I am confident' to a mirror every morning for six weeks. It did not help. If anything, it made things worse, because every time I said it and did not feel it, the gap between the sentence and my actual state became its own evidence that something was wrong with me.
